| Q&A May Edition! - May 07, 2008 |
|
- You've been in NYC for a while now. Is there a chance you'd move back to LA or even back to the Nashville area? I actually would not be opposed to moving back to LA. I enjoyed living there and I have a lot of wonderful friends there that I miss. - Since there is limited opportunity for a solo tour, is there a chance you may be be the opening act for another artist or band? We are always looking for these types of opportunities. The problem here is finding people who are touring and it has to make sense for both artists. - Is there any specific reason you declined "Simply Ballroom?" I think it was due to scheduling. - Are you still planning on running a marathon? Yes! I am training right now for my Marathon. I will be running in October! Wish me luck! It's definitely a challenge. - Have you chosen a favorite in this year's presidential race? For a long time I was not sure who I would be voting for in the presidential race. I was so excited by both of the democratic nominees. I have just recently decided who will be my pick. - Silly questions - Sheets- Egyptian cotton or satin? Men -a pillow talker or a quiet storm? Beverage -tea or coffee? Movies - romantic comedy or action? Shoes - stilettos or wedge? Chocolate - Godiva or Hershey? Wine - white or red? Swimming - ocean or pool? Sleeping - stay up late or get up early? LOL! Egyptian Cotton, Definitely the pillow-talker, Tea, Romantic Comedy, Stilettos, Godiva-White Chocolate, Red Wine, Ocean and Pool, Stay up late! - Are you going to be part of the 50 Million Pound Challenge tour this year? As of right now it is not on my calendar. - Are there plans to release any more singles from Based On True Story? YES! I'm hoping the next single will be "I Don't Wanna Know". - Since you wanted to be on Dancing With The Stars, what are your favorite dances, and have you started taking lessons? I have taken a few Salsa lessons here and there but it is definitely on my list of things to do this year. - Being a restaurant owner, have you thought of doing any correspondent work for the Food Network, or thought about going on some of their shows like Paula's Party, Rachel Ray, or Martha Stewart Shows? Actually yes we have spoken with all of these shows on different occassions. Martha actually mention our restaurant on her show. You know she lives in the area. I just recently spoke to someone about being on Paula's Party. I JUST LOVE HER! - Are there plans to become part of a Christmas tour this year? I hope so! I had so much fun last year with Dave Koz. - Will you be doing any more cruises other than the Tesh one this year? As of right now I don't have one on the calendar but I have been discussing other cruise opportunities. - Any word on the direction of the next album? Now that's a surprise! LOL! - If you could duet with any artist associated with Curb who would it be? Male or female or both. Female: Wynonna or Lee Anne - Is there anything special you do or use to take care of your voice? Not really. I have learned the value of rest. It really is the best thing for your voice. - What is your favorite girl scout cookie? THIN MINTS - Being in the music industry is a tough job and success is even tougher. What is your motivation to keep making music? Singing is my passion, it is what I love to do. My music is the reason why I am where I am today. - How has your life changed since American Idol? This is such a loaded question! American Idol opened so many doors for me a lot sooner than I ever expected. You name it and I have experienced it since Idol. From travel, to networking, owning my own business, and I believe the best is yet to come! - You were once headed to law school. Do you have any good study skills or tips that you use that have helped you remember and retain information? Taking good notes was always a good study skill for me. I would even re-write my notes on index cards. There is something about the repetition, it really gets into your brain. - You said on Idol Rewind that Band of Gold was a song you didn't like so why did you record it? I don't remember saying that, but I must have or you wouldn't have said that. Putting that song on the album was a management/ label decision. - Would you ever do a gospel album? Absolutely. It has to be the right time for me. - What type of different musical styles will you be exploring on your third album? Good question let me think about that one... - Is Curb Records going to take a different angle at promoting you after your second album didn't sell that well despite good reviews and strong radio airplay? Ask Curb!!!!! Let me know what they say! ;-) - What is your favorite guilty pleasure food? PIZZA -- you should know that one!! - What has been your biggest life lesson from this entire experience, such as making it so far in American Idol, and just other great successes you've experienced? My biggest life lesson has been having a good attitude and being easy to work with. I have met many people working on different shows not mention crossing paths with so many of the people who worked on Idol. They remember you for your attitude and it can make or break you. I've also learned that as much as I love to work, it is so important for me to remember to take some time for myself and enjoy life and friends. Not to mention its important to always give back. |
