Ultimate Q & A (part 2)! - February 2, 2006
Hey Krew,

Here are the answers to the last few questions in the "Ask Kimmie" thread:

Q: Kim, I heard that "Just My Size” approached you and Frenchie after they saw you on American Idol. Is that true??
A: To my knowledge this is not true, but it would have been nice!

Q: Hey Kim, I was wondering if your still going to put that DVD with your album, if so good, if not, you should, because we rarely see you on TV.
A: Yes, we are still putting out the DVD with the album. You rarely see me on TV now because I am working in the studio, but that will soon change. The DVD footage will be about me recording the album, Lane Bryant photo shoots…the “day in the life of” kind of stuff.

Q: What is your favorite sport to watch, and your favorite sport to play?
A: I like to watch football…it always amazes me how passionate men can be about the game, but when it comes to real life situations, they are like a blank canvas! I love the energy of football fans. It’s just a good ol’ time! When I was in school I played softball, then when I got older I played co-ed…which was a lot of fun!

Q: I’ve heard many celebs comment during interviews on how when you get famous those around you, such as your friends, family, etc. whom may have known you before your fame, start to change or act differently toward you, some for the good and some for the bad. How have you dealt with it? I know a while back (I think during a Dateline interview) you touched on it. And how has the past three years changed you personally as far as your outlook on your life and relationships you have with people now and those you knew before coming into the limelight?
A: I have the same friends now as I did before Idol. Of course, I have had some instances where I had to cut some people off, but that’s just life. Sometimes you out grow your friends and it is necessary to move on. I still love them, but you have to leave them behind. As for family, they tried to pop into my life but I did not allow that to happen. I really feel like I handled myself well during that time. I did not let anyone close to me that wasn’t already in my circle of family and friends.

Q: Ok, I've been trying to think of something I've never asked you before....so, I finally came up with something...do you ever get stage fright??? Like the nervous butterflies? Every time I perform, I get butterflies until I'm actually doing it...then I'm fine once I'm on stage!
A: I do get stage fright! I always get it 5 seconds before I walk out on stage and then it’s too late for me to think about it. I just make sure I breathe deep and hold it together. Once I am on stage I seem to be ok. That’s normally the way it goes!

Q: What was your first job EVER (like not baby sitting, but first OFFICAL job)? Did you ever wait tables? When I was in some acting classes, a teacher once told me every artist will wait tables at one point in their life. Hmmm I work in a restaurant...so maybe that means I'll be famous one day!
A: My first job EVER was when I was 15...I worked in a small burger joint that was drive-thru only called “Beefy’s”. It was so tiny! I was in high school at the time and I gained 15lbs working there because I drank chocolate milk shakes and ate french fries all of the time! They had the good fries…the spicy ones!

Q: Ok, I've been watching the Golden Globes and all that crazy coverage which is somewhat unrelated to the question, but it got me thinking. The first time you stepped onto the famous "red carpet,” what was it like? I'd imagine it must be an interesting experience. And, what's the best awards show you've been to and the best after-party? And by best, I mean something wild and crazy!
A: Walking on the Red Carpet for the first time is mind blowing. It can make you feel like a superstar and a nobody all at the same time! My worst experience on the red carpet was when I was stuck between James Brown and LaToya Jackson!!! I felt like the little country girl who had been taken off the farm and dropped on the red carpet…like Dorothy in the “Wizard of Oz”! I haven’t really been to any CRAZY parties yet, but I may go to some Grammy parties and maybe they’ll be good!

Q: What kind of car do you drive?
A: I drive a black Mercedes convertible and I love it! I also have a black Ninja 500 …my Christmas present to myself!

Q: What has been going on with you lately?
A: I have been in the studio trying to finish up the album. We are not too far from being done, it’s just a long process. I am still trying to move to New York hopefully sooner rather than later….I LOVE NYC!

Q: When is your album going to be released?
A: The album is now coming out in May or June 06. Not too bad, and it really isn’t that far off. In between now and then, I will have to do some promotions and radio visits so I may see some of you sooner than you think! Just be ready to rip them off the shelf when they become available!

I see that you guys are anticipating my acting career as much as I am! From our mouths to God’s ears! I hope that I get to be an actress! I would love to do romantic scenes or tough girl roles! Yeah, that would be amazing! So keep praying for me! BTW I LOVE “GIRLFRIENDS”!!!!!!!

Anyway…I love you guys and hope you are all having an amazing year so far! I will be chatting with you soon!

Love,
Kimberley
